The 18th Asian Forensic Sciences Network (AFSN) Annual Meeting and the inaugural International Symposium on Advances in Forensic Science opened on November 3 in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China, alongside the first China International Forensic Science Equipment Exhibition. This marks the second time China has hosted the AFSN Annual Meeting, following the 10th meeting in Beijing in 2018.
Hosted by the Institute of Forensic Science of China, the meeting is co-organized by the Fujian Provincial Public Security Department, the Xiamen Municipal Public Security Bureau and Fudan University, with SDIC Intelligence Information Technology Co., Ltd. (SDIC Intelligence) and Beijing Criminal Technology Co., Ltd. serving as its executive organizers.
AI Takes Center Stage as Delegates Adopt the Xiamen Initiative.
Under the theme of “Artificial Intelligence Empowering Forensic Science” ,the meeting brings together representatives from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, INTERPOL, and forensic institutions in 28 countries across Asia, Europe, and Africa, as well as experts from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kongand Macao, China. The meeting issued the Xiamen Initiative, calling for stronger forensic science cooperation to safeguard shared security. The initiative sets out five development priorities under a “5S” framework: Safeguarding Public Safety and Security, Shared Development, Sustainable Development, Standardized Developmentand Smart Development. It received broad support from international delegates.

Forensic science provides a common language across legal systems. Despite differences in judicial procedures, forensic practitioners share a commitment to reliable evidence and objective fact-finding. Held alongside the conference, the China International Forensic Science Equipment Exhibition brings together 57 exhibitors .The exhibition space futher brings together 78 products from 23 law enforcement equipment partners, showcasing complementary capabilities across the forensic science supply chain.
It provides SDIC Intelligence with a platform to showcase its comprehensive capabilities to an international audience. With bilingual services and a dedicated area for international visitors, SDIC Intelligence’s booth has attracted industry professionals from around the world. The exhibition highlights the company’s integrated forensic science products and full-process solutions, alongside innovative technologies and equipment from its ecosystem partners.
SDIC Intelligence’s Four Exhibition Zones Showcase End-to-End Forensic Capabilities.
SDIC Intelligence’s booth is divided into four zones:
- Smart Forensic Laboratory: Centered on an `unattended digital forensic workflow system`, this zone demonstrates an automated, end-to-end workflow from evidence intake to report generation.
- Digital Forensics: Led by the QIKO 3.0 forensic AI agent, this zone also features an automated mobile-device forensics unit, the Super Cube forensic system, the interview transcription assistant, and equipment for on-site drone forensics, supporting faster and more accurate field operations.
- AI-boosted Forensic Examination Workflows: Covering case intake, AI-assisted analysis, and electronic signature management for forensic reports, this zone demonstrates how standardized forensic procedures can be embedded in casework systems.
- Embodied AI Equipment: Security patrol robots and Qutewear smart camera headsets demonstrate applications in frontline patrols and scene inspection.

SDIC Intelligence Smart Forensic Laboratory: Standardizing the Workflow from Evidence Intake to Report Generation.
A centerpiece of SDIC Intelligence’s exhibition is its smart forensic laboratory solution. Designed around an full automated workflow from evidence intake to report generation, the solution maintains an audit trail throughout the working process to support traceability and review.
By shifting from operator-attended processing to an automated production-line workflow, the solution reduces variation caused by manual operations and boosting throughput by 40%, reaching 1.4 times the original level. It translates specialist expertise into consistent, repeatable procedures, offering a new model for standardized digital forensic laboratory operations.
